Disability Support Services at Emmanuel College works with the campus community to provide students with resources and direct services to help ensure an inclusive learning environment. The Accommodations Coordinator works with the Assistant Director of Disability Support Services in coordinating and administering services and accommodations to students with documented disabilities. Primary responsibilities include evaluating and facilitating non-academic, temporary, and academic accommodations, and maintaining records and reports. Additional responsibilities of the Accommodations Coordinator, include: ?collaborating with the Assistant Director of DSS, the Academic Resource Center and other departments in provision of disability support services ?meeting with individual students to assess need, identify services, and develop accommodation plans for non-academic, temporary and academic accommodations ?interpreting documentation for the purpose of determining accommodations, and communicating with students and appropriate individuals about needs, forms, and the status of requests ?facilitating the implementation of appropriate and reasonable accommodations in a timely manner in consultation with students and other members of the college community ?maintaining appropriate records by documenting communication regarding students, accommodation recommendations, evaluations, and other necessary information. ?providing verification of appropriate accommodation to faculty or departments, and working together with the student and relevant campus members to monitor accommodations ?coordinating academic, temporary, and non-academic accommodations such as housing accommodations, distraction-reduced exams, etc. ?staying abreast of national, state, and local disability-related issues.

This 36-week, full-time position during the academic year requires some flexibility with scheduling, with occasional evening and weekend hours during finals, a solid understanding of accommodation practices and laws for higher education, sensitivity to the needs of students with disabilities, and excellent collaborative and communication skills. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in a related field, along with 2+ years of experience with disability support services. Candidate must demonstrate a high level of sensitivity to the needs and concerns of students with disabilities to help ensure that they receive fair and respectful treatment.
