Overview Early College Pathways Coordinator The Early College Program at Charlestown High School seeks to close gaps between traditionally underrepresented students and their peers in postsecondary educational attainment and entry into the workforce by promoting equity, inclusiveness, and early college and career readiness opportunities for all students. The Early College Program Manager is responsible for the oversight and implementation of C-Town Early College Pathways goals and initiatives. Working with staff across Charlestown High School and its postsecondary partners, the Early College Pathways Director aims to ensure appropriate program infrastructure and systems are in place to support CHS Early College team members, students, and families. Essential Responsibilities Program Leadership and Development Plan and facilitate weekly Early College team meetings to outline and assess goals, establish vision, benchmark progress against key metrics and address program needs and supports Promote a culture of continuous improvement by providing and seeking and feedback from staff, students, and partners on an ongoing basis to refine pathways programming and strategies. Collaborate with Pathways Experience Coordinator and Work Based Learning coordinator to schedule a sequence of work-based learning and college exploration workshops across all grade levels Represent Charlestown High School at cross-institutional workshops and training sessions, as well as state-level convenings hosted by DESE and other stakeholders Represent Charlestown High School on local steering committees meetings and task forces as needed. Manage and oversee Pathways budget in collaboration with school administrators Support the development of grant proposals and coordination of external grant activities and reporting. Early College Pathways Coordination Develop transparent processes and protocols for student registration, assessment, course withdrawal, submitting and disseminating final grades to students, families, and school/state-level administrators in a timely fashion. Establish and maintain systems that promote clear lines of communication between high school staff, students, families and post-secondary institutions Work closely with college partners to purchase and distribute course materials such as textbooks and online subscriptions. Data Collection and Measurement Create and maintain student files, which include updated contact information, registration materials, assessment results, and signed copies of student applications and contracts. Run reports to collect, organize, and disseminate enrollment and statistical data. Develop effective systems for tracking student enrollment and credit accumulation, measuring progress, and identifying and implementing academic interventions. Ensure students in Early College pathways are coded for SIMS and other state or local reporting. Assess student and program performance by collecting, analyzing, and reporting student academic outcomes and employment data and make recommendations to improve student achievement in order to fulfill the CHS Early College and Career Pathways mission and vision. Meet bi-weekly with CHS principal to discuss student enrollment, recruitment strategies, data/tracking, and deliverables. Qualifications Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred. Knowledge of national and state-level policies, frameworks, and best practices pertaining to Career and Technical Education, Dual Enrollment and Early College. Ability to access, analyze, and incorporate national and local labor market information into program design and decisions. Experience developing and maintaining complex cross-sector partnerships among high school and college faculty, district personnel, employers, CBOs and other external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate program goals, progress, and needs to a range of different audiences and stakeholders using tact, patience, and courtes Experience working in schools and communities with students from diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. Proven track record of designing and implementing program strategies that promote equity, celebrate students’ diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and meet all learners where they are. Desire to regularly reflect on practice, seek and respond to feedback, and demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning. Excellent project management skills including record keeping and systems for sharing and tracking information. NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
