Boston University FACULTY ACTIONS ADMINISTRATOR, School of Medicine, General Internal Medicine in BOSTON, Massachusetts

This position will provide administrative support to the Section of General Internal Medicine. Specifically, the position will play a crucial role in the recruiting and hiring of new faculty as well as in the process of obtaining appointments and promotions for our faculty. The individual in the position will ensure students working in our Section are hired and paid properly.

They will also be available to:

  • Assist with visa paperwork and adhoc projects, as needed.

  • Prepare required offer documents for faculty recruits, revise documents as needed, ensure documents are correct, obtain signatures and save executed documents centrally.

  • Work with General Internal Medicine faculty to obtain their faculty appointments and promotions.

  • Provide checklists, instructions and frequent status updates.

  • Track appointments and promotions that are in process and those that are planned.

  • Resolve any discrepancies pertaining to faculty appointments and promotions.

  • Act as the contact for VA faculty who need non-compensated appointments at Boston University.

  • Process promotions and appointments in online systems (SAP) and ensure all required paperwork are submitted accurately and timely.

  • Manage section student payroll and open student positions to include: advertising job openings, hiring students, approving student hours and provide guidance when needed.

  • Assist Section faculty with visa applications and paperwork, as needed.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
