Job Description

Responsible for the success of several key areas of online course delivery for a portfolio of courses, directly serving approximately 400 to 500 students from acceptance to graduation, in the Boston University programs and courses supported by the Office of Distance Education. Advise faculty and facilitators in using best practices for online education, using course technologies, and communicating with students, and provide them with expert guidance in the advanced fully-online use of the learning management system; continually monitor student performance with the teaching team and address issues that arise daily; collaborate with the academic departments online program administrators and with other university student support offices to ensure a positive learning experience; communicate with students to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate resources; oversee and administer the preparation, launch, and execution of 10 to 15 courses within the learning management system six times per year; and provide advanced specialized training and support for Live Classroom delivery and technology to ensure successful student engagement in online courses using a complex web-conferencing platform.

Required Skills

Requires: B.A./B.S., strong attention to detail, excellent writing and overall communication skills, professionalism, strong customer service and problem-solving skills, the ability to think quickly on your feet, and to escalate issues when required, multi-tasking, and the ability to empathize with the student yet also represent the interests of the university, effective negotiation skills, the ability to work independently and also be team oriented, and one to three years of experience.
