Position Overview

The Graduation Advisor will play a vital role in guiding juniors and seniors as they navigate their graduation requirements and finalize their academic plans. Through personalized advising meetings, written communication, and degree audit software, the Graduation Advisor ensures that students stay on track to meet their goals. This position involves close collaboration with academic departments and university programs to provide accurate, timely, and consistent information on degree requirements and other advising needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise students (primarily juniors and seniors) on graduation requirements and options for achieving their academic goals.

  • Communicate with students via email, in-person meetings, and digital platforms to ensure understanding of degree requirements and progress.

  • Update individual student records in degree audit software, ensuring accurate tracking of requirements and progress toward graduation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with academic departments and university programs to provide students with clear, consistent, and current information.

  • Act as a general advising resource, assisting with advising issues for all College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) students.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred and 3+ years of experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage both advising and administrative tasks.

  • Experience in academic advising, student services, or a related field is preferred.
