About the role:

Join Takeda as a Head of Ethics & Compliance US Oncology Business Unit, senior director level, where you will be a key forward-thinking leader, helping drive ethical behaviors, risk identification and mitigation, and compliance with global requirements. You will build an innovative function supporting achievement of Takeda’s Vision and the mission of its U.S. Oncology Business Unit (US OBU). In doing so, you will respond rapidly to changing environment and business needs. By working in an agile manner, you will ensure balance between stable structures, governance, processes and systems, and dynamic approaches to delivering innovative solutions to appropriately manage our risks. As part of the Ethics & Compliance Oncology team, you will report to Head of Ethics & Compliance, GOBU and support US Oncology Medical Affairs, US Oncology Patient Value and Access, and groups that engage patients and patient advocacy organizations in the US other relevant functions.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead and manage a small and highly focused and motivated team of E&C Business Partners

  • Serve more generally as a pro-active, senior member of the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) E&C group, assuming also the role of a primary ‘go-to’ for the Head, E&C OBU

  • Provide proactive business engagement and support to commercial organization in US OBU, including all relevant functions within US OBU, e.g. Medical, Patient Value and Access, and groups that engage patients and patient advocacy organizations in the US other relevant functions

  • Assume a lead role in developing relationships and improved ways of working with E&C colleagues from outside the OBU group, particularly USBU

  • Lead and/or play a key team role on specific, identified cross functional project(s)

  • Increase business acumen by obtaining therapeutic and product knowledge to support current and pipeline products

  • Provide input into global E&C Policies/SOPs, initiatives or programs as relevant and interface with other E&C teams for OBU support and support the development or updating of policies/SOP for US OBU and OBU generally

  • Support OBU in shaping the organizational mindset around the PTRB (Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business)-Model to firmly embed ethical decision-making principles External facing - align OBU Advisory engagement with evolving Ethics & Compliance trends (PhRMA, OIG, DOJ, SEC, PCF)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10-12 years E&C experience (while specific E&C experience is strongly preferred, substantive experience gained in a legal role(s) where the handling of significant compliance-related matters form part of such role(s) would also be considered)

  • Minimum 5 years leading team(s) in an E&C environment and / or as a member of a business leadership team

  • Strong understanding of US pharma market (preferably 7-10 years pharma experience) and sound working knowledge of ex-US pharma (preferably 3-5 years ex-US pharma experience)

  • Preferably background in Oncology

  • Strong communication skills - including the proven ability to manage and communicate effectively on complex matters  

  • Ability to effectively lead teams in formal and informal settings

  • Able to lead and deliver on deadlines while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively

  • Works cross-functionally / collaborates / manages matrix - Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead change efforts through effective communication and persuasion

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to demonstrate executive presence while interacting with all levels of management, field sales, marketing, marketing and sales vendors and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and regulatory information and legal advice

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$205,100.00 - $322,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
