Colleges of the Fenway Instructional Designer - CPCE Online (Boston Campus) - Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts

The Instructional Designer (ID) manages projects in coordination with faculty Subject Matter Experts (SME?s) for Wentworth Online. Main responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering fully online and hybrid courses in support of bachelor?s and master?s degree programs, as well as online professional certificates. Additionally the ID will be responsible for quality assurance checks on the online and hybrid courses before delivery each semester and for guiding faculty on the appropriate use of the Blackboard LMS for teaching.

The ID will foster positive working relationships with online faculty and SME?s through collaborative design consultation, and general support. Successful candidates will be well versed in promoting best practices in course design through the integration of adult learning theory, effective instructional methods, and the adoption of appropriate academic technology.

Someone holding this position will be required to collaborate with appropriate faculty and technology support teams around the Institute on a regular basis. Additionally the ID may be required to represent the Wentworth Online team on various Institute committees as appropriate.

The ID role functions as part of the larger College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) team and requires participation in events and activities in support of the department. Having a positive attitude and being a team player is a must.
