JVS Boston Instructor in Boston, Massachusetts

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Lead Career Coach, the JVS Instructor develops and modifies contextualized curriculum and daily lesson plans for the Refugee Services Department?s vocational English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes as part of rapid employment and career advancement programming for immigrants and refugees; intakes and orients new participants; delivers vocational ESOL instruction and trainings in-person and remotely as needed; regularly evaluates student progress and skill attainment ; tracks outcomes and contributes reports for the managers, funders or evaluators, and partners; supports efforts to advance instructional quality; and collaborates with staff in the department and across the agency to ensure attainment of program goals. MINIMIUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Associate/BS/BA in Education or related field. TESOL Certificate, CELTA, and/or Masters preferred. 1-3 years of workplace or related training/teaching experience knowledge of adult learning theory ability to deal tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of clients at all levels of the organization strong presentation and facilitation skills strong Microsoft Office Suite/365 skills.
