We are immediately hiring in Boston, Massachusetts! Join us at Community Work Services (CWS) as an Instructor for Hotel Management and Hospitality.

MUST be vaccinated against COVID-19. Required to provide documentation during Onboarding process.

Mission: To help people who face barriers to work obtain employment and achieve self-sufficiency through innovative job training, placement, and support services.

Community Work Services (CWS) was founded in 1877 as the Cooperative Society of Visitors Among the Poor of Boston to provide services to the poor of Boston and address the roots of poverty through employment, education, and housing improvements. Its founder, Annie Fields, is said to have been a transitional figure in the development of a professional social-service network. Mrs. Fields hoped to apply business principles and efficiency to benevolent activities and charity work. Today CWS provides job placement, training, and support services in the Boston area.

Job Title: Instructor for Hotel Management and Hospitality

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full Time

Position Summary:

CWS is seeking an instructor for Hotel Management and Hospitality to prepare program participants entry-level careers in the hospitality industry and job readiness.

Essential Job Functions:

At Your Services Training Instruction

  • Responsible for the instruction of participants in At Your Services job readiness training using START curriculum through the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

  • Assist with the development of written lesson plans based on the existing curriculum; update curriculum to ensure that skills being taught continue to meet the labor market demand.

  • Administer written and practical tests related to the curriculum.

  • Evaluate the student's progress in the AYS class including ability to comprehend, perform and retain information, report assessment to Case Managers, Training Instructors and Management Team.

    Workforce Development Team Support

  • Assist with recruitment of candidates for the training program and participate in assessment, matriculation, graduation and graduate support activities.

  • Conduct assessments and relay feedback to the Workforce Development team regarding participant progress.

  • Support and mentor trainees utilizing a positive and encouraging approach.

  • Assist WFD with placement assistance including developing internship sites and employment-partnerships prior to and during job search.

    Education and Experience :

  • Associates degree

  • Five years of practical experience in the field of retail and/or hospitality

  • Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field preferred.

  • Curriculum development and teaching experience strongly preferred.
