MCPHS University International Admission Counselor in Boston, Massachusetts
The International Admission Counselor is responsible for the daily administrative tasks that support conversion and yield of qualified prospective international students, as well as the timely issuance of I-20 Forms as part of the yield strategy.
Responsible for supporting the International Admissions staff to reach assigned enrollment targets for international students
Responsible for implementing the yield strategy of the university for international students including a pro-active management of student conversion and yield from applied through the various stages up to matriculated, by way of constant surveillance and analysis of reports and numbers, in conjunction with recruiters.
Provide continuous customer service to all students at every stage of their application
Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process, affordability and opportunities at the University via appointments, phone calls, and emails
Coordinate Social Media posts for International with Marketing
Advise international students and their dependents and help them acquire lawful immigration status. Assist students with registration, university policies and procedures.
Administer all initial I-20 student inquiries and correspondence
Validate immigration documents necessary to obtain the F-1 student visa.
Ensure institutional compliance with federal regulations related to administering student visas
Initiate proactive I-20 communication (pre-emptive phone calls, advising, parent communication)
Provide information, manage and coordinate communication plans for incoming students inorder to maintain an active relationship with the accepted students until their arrival on campus.
Manage responses to inquiries and ongoing communication with prospective students and their families, while working in conjunction with other departments.
Support recruiting operations by making sure policies and procedures are being followed
Responsible for International Office presence 8:30-4:30 M/F or as needed
Recruit, administer, hire and manage International Student workers.
Provide information, manage and coordinate communication plans for incoming students inorder to maintain an active relationship with the accepted students until theirarrival on campus.
Assist in the development and delivery of on-campus and virtual events
Work collaboratively with or as a liaison to other departments and offices across campus.
Welcome students during on-campus events
Assist recruiters with travel and communication for travel as needed
Other tasks and projects as needed
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.
A minimum of three years experience in administrative, project management and/or logistical support for a goal-oriented business development team
Proficiency with virtual meeting software platforms, Office 360 (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Notebook)
Experience with Salesforce or a similar Client Relations Management System.
Must be goal or results-oriented
Excellent coordination, project management and time management competency
Logical and detail-oriented organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be available to travel 10% of the time
Ability to communicate with students from different cultural backgrounds
Public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multitask and effectively function in a fast-paced and team enviroment
Comfortable working under pressure of time and numbers/targets
Proficiency in a foreign language
Experience in international student recruitment with success in meeting application/enrollment targets
