What You'll Do Here:
The Learning Designer is responsible for the analysis and design of the content strategy within the product to match the channel, discipline and course curricula. The Learning Designer enables digital learning for strategic products in alignment with the Skills channel, discipline learning strategy and Cengage standards and best practices. Responsible for efficient, effective and agile curriculum development and continuous improvement of content strategy through industry research and end-user feedback and analysis.
Applies basic skills of learning design/science and content strategy creation.
Learning Designer work should be performed from within specific limits of established procedures and/or defined instructions. The Learning Designer would take a standard Learning Design Plan and work with their manager and the Product Manager on the team to determine how it needs to be updated/revised.
Applies problem-solving and critical thinking skills to solve problems and/or analyze incoming data.
Studies and learns about pedagogy and learning methodologies.
Works as partner with manager and begins to learn how to work as partner with Product Manager and Market Development Manager.
Skills You Will Need Here:
BA/BS or a minimum of 3+ years equivalent experience
1-3 years successful experience working with content and designing/creating different types of learning
Demonstrated content leadership of product and/or process redesign related to learning experiences
Ability to apply learning science and e-learning methodologies to assigned products, courses and disciplines
Understanding of Cengage Learning content types and product capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to create Learning Path that maps to defined market needs and learning objectives
Ability to author/create content in Cengage Learning systems
