Boston University LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST/TRAINER, Organizational Development and Learning in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Organizational Development & Learning Specialist-Trainer in the Office of the Vice President and Associate Provost for Community and Inclusion will design and deliver learning programs in all delivery modalities including live-in person, on-demand, and virtual trainings for 10,000 staff and faculty. In this position, the specialist will help to align all learning initiatives with the University’s DEI strategy, and it’s focus building healthier, more effective communities.

This role will also conduct thorough needs assessments with stakeholders across the BU community and provide consultation to support the varied professional development needs by curating and sourcing on-demand trainings. Facilitate a variety of programs including but not limited to, new manager orientation, on-going management programs, professional skills development programs, and the implementation of new learning & development initiatives. Assess the success of learning initiatives and programs and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.

Required Skills

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of experience in designing and delivering adult learning and training required.

  • Facilitating trainings on a range of topics related to professional development, management, and leadership skills.

  • Experience with using training authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate.

  • Experience with working in a large complex organization with multiple stakeholders.

    Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with collaboration tools like MS Teams, Zoom

  • Experience in an institution of higher education is preferred, not required.
