The History, Languages, Global Culture department of the College of Arts and Sciences at Suffolk University is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time lecturer opening to teach the following undergraduate course: American Sign Language. Ideally the successful candidate will have: -- at least a Master’ Degree in ASL pedagogy, applied linguistics, Deaf Studies, or a related field -- native-equivalent fluency in ASL -- two years of ASL teaching experience at the university level as well as extensive knowledge of the Deaf culture and Deaf community. The fall ASL courses have already been scheduled. Here are the times: ASL 101A: MWF 8:00-8:50 ASL 101B: MWF 11:10-12:00

As a student-centered department, we are looking for instructors who bring enthusiasm, compassion, and good organizational skills to the classroom.

Also required is the ability to successfully work with a diverse student population and commitment to student learning and outcomes.
