Boston Properties Marketing Intern in Boston, Massachusetts

Primary Purpose of Position:

Assist in marketing and communications activities for assets within the Boston region portfolio.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Marketing Department with three to four projects, as assigned. Projects may include the following:

  • Research and develop programming and communication ideas to support activation goals at assigned property.

  • Assist in staffing and execution of planned events throughout the region; suggest enhancements.

  • Assist in creating content and messaging for social media platforms as assigned.

  • Support goal of consistency across regional properties for branding, signage and event execution.

  • Provide on-going support to marketing team as needed.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program required.

  • Completion of freshman and sophomore years preferred.

  • One year of prior work experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe design programs preferred.

  • Experience with social media platforms including Twitter & Instagram required.

  • Ability to confidently and professionally interact with co-workers, vendors, community partners, office and retail tenants, and other clients in an articulate and courteous and manner at all times.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Effective problem solving skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organization and multi-task management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves work of a general office nature usually performed sitting such as operation of a computer.

  • Involves work of a general office nature usually performed standing such as operation of a fax and printer.

Internal and External Contacts:

  • Internal contact with all departments in Boston Regional Office, marketing staff in other regional offices.

  • External contact with community partners, tenants, retail and office tenants.

Reporting Structure:

  • This position reports to the Marketing Director, Boston region who provides supervision and guidance, and evaluates performance on a periodic basis.
