Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians Neonatologist in Boston, Massachusetts

Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and the Department of Neonatology are seeking candidates for a faculty neonatologist position focused on enhancing neurodevelopmental support of infants in the NICU and in follow through as graduates. This full time academic position includes clinical responsibilities in the neonatal intensive care unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and in the NICU Growth and Developmental Support Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, teaching responsibilities as required for Harvard Medical School faculty, and training responsibilities in the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Training Program. The person in this role will work with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement models of developmentally appropriate care for infants with complex needs integrated across inpatient and outpatient settings. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is a patient care, teaching, and research affiliate of Harvard Medical School, and currently ranks among the top ten in National Institutes of Health funding among independent hospitals nationwide. The perinatal program includes 5,300 deliveries per year, an active high-risk maternal-fetal medicine service, a 62-bed level III NICU, and a well-established, family-centered care model. The Department of Neonatology has a diverse faculty with expertise in health services, clinical epidemiologic, quality improvement, and translational research. An infrastructure to support clinical research offers statistical support, facilities, and research support staff. The successful candidate should be board certified in both neonatal-perinatal medicine and developmental behavioral pediatrics. Relevant skills include facility with developmental measurement and testing, performing neurobehavioral assessments, and developing multidisciplinary care plans for infants and young children with medical and developmental complexity. Academic rank of Member of the Faculty, Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
