This course will provide an overview of the field of federal Indian Law. It will explore constitutional law, statutory law, and treaties relating to American Indians, Indian reservations, and tribal governments. It will consider both historical and contemporary issues, which may include: tribal/state/federal jurisdiction in Indian country; religious freedoms; water, hunting, and fishing rights; and contemporary conflicts over gaming rights.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a subject matter expert and will have experience with law school teaching.
