Boston Public Schools Partnership Liaison/Technology Coordinator - [BCLA-McCormack] Gr. 7-12, SY22-23 (ESSER Funded Position) in Boston, Massachusetts

This vacancy is the result of temporary funding through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER). The duration of the funding means the position is temporary and may last for one, two, or three years. Hired candidates may be excessed or non-renewed from the position for the following school year. Partnership Liaison/Technology Coordinator Managerial B, 12 months General Description and Goals: BCLA-McCormack is a pilot school serving grades 7 through 12. This position will serve to meet the technology needs of students and staff and serve to develop, monitor, and evaluate partnerships working with the BCLA-McCormack community. At BCLA-McCormack, our purpose is to create an antiracist learning environment that is responsive to our community, nurtures personalized and authentic educational experiences and develops social-emotional competencies and purpose toward all students’ futures. Responsibilities: Technology 60% Support the technology needs of MCAS and all other school or grade-wide electronically based testing. Support and maintain all copiers throughout the complex as well as maintain the professional service connections with copier vendors. Support all teachers with classroom based technology needs. Support all students with school-based technology needs. Support and help maintain all computers throughout the building. Maintain and clean technology service areas. Catalogue and maintain technology inventory, as well as classroom projectors. Provide set-up and take-down support for all audio/visual technology needs for faculty meetings; on-site conferences and meetings; school assemblies; and other events as directed by head of schools and/or director of technology Staff the technology help desk in a professional and helpful manner Serve as a before and end-of-school resource person for the opening and closing of carts when teachers are absent or off-campus Partnerships 40% Communicate with partners regularly to establish partnership agreements over the summer and uphold such agreements throughout the year Meet with partner programs quarterly to determine the progress of the program and make adjustments in collaboration with partners as needed Upload partnership agreements onto the BPS partner platform Create a system to evaluate the effectiveness of partners throughout the year Serve as a point person to facilitate conversations with the governing board to determine which partnerships should be maintained year after year Other duties as designated by the Head of School and administrative personnel Qualifications: Required: Experience with technology “help-desk” protocols Familiarity and understanding educational services in urban communities Experience in trouble-shooting hardware and software issues Familiarity Windows 7 and up Excellent client based “service” skills and the ability to keep accurate records Effective communication written and oral communication skills Associates degree in technology or related field. Preferred Experience within an urban public school or social service setting Prior experience in a customer service environment Terms: Managerial. Tier B. This position is subject to the City of Boston Residency ordinance NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
