We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join our Center for Global Education (CGE). Reporting to the Director, the Program Coordinator will be the first point of contact for students, staff, faculty and parents engaging with the CGE. From supporting students through the study abroad lifecycle to supporting international students in their study and work experience, the Program Coordinator will play a critical role in the integration of global and multicultural experiences into the lives of Simmons?s students.

A key strategic partner on campus, Simmons's Center for Global Education (CGE) strives to cultivate and grow the intercultural competency of the Simmons community. The Center is responsible for managing international student services as well as all education abroad programming, including direct exchange partnerships and faculty-led Travel Courses. The CGE is a vital component to the internationalization of campus and, in building global leaders, continues to fulfill the legacy established by founder John Simmons.


Support the management of operations and activities of study abroad programs and international student services at the CGE;

Help manage budgetary matters for Simmons University Travel Courses, semester study abroad partners, and various CGE events;

Collaborate with Account Payable in remitting payment to Travel Course providers and network of semester study abroad programs;

Support study abroad enrollment management, from pre-?‐departure through re-?‐entry stages, using the Terra Dotta database;

Oversee the day-?‐to-?‐day activities of the office by planning and directing the work of student staff;

Partake in CGE-?‐affiliated committees including Simmons Education Abroad Council, Simmons Study Abroad Scholarship Committee, Colleges of the Fenway Study Abroad Council, as well as International Students and Scholars Advising Committee as needed;

Manage the Center?s central email and direct phone line platforms and assists with scheduling advising appointments;

Help develop and contribute to the CGE?s multi-?‐strata marketing plan including regular website updates, engaging creatively with social media platforms, and developing print and electronic marketing collateral for CGE programs and events;

Organize and promote student events, including information sessions, International Student Orientation, CPT/OPT workshops, faculty training seminars, in-?‐class presentations, pre-?‐departure/reentry study abroad events, study abroad fairs, events co-?‐sponsored with the Simmons Multicultural & International Student Organization (MISO), and other events and activities as needed;

Contribute to welcoming student atmosphere in the Center for Student Success;

Serve as a Designated Student Official (DSO) under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) in order to maintain up to date files of all F-1 international students.


Bachelor?s degree or equivalent work experience

A minimum of 1 year of professional experience or equivalent internship experience;

Experience working in higher education and/or in the fields of international student services and/or study abroad preferred;

Experience studying or living abroad preferred;

Demonstrated interest to international education and learning opportunities, with a promotion of cross-cultural understanding;

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds;

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status preferred in order to serve as a DSO;

Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
