This Research Assistant I will be responsible for:
Working as part of a team of scientists who focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of allergic diseases (atopic dermatitis, asthma and food allergy) in the laboratory of Dr. Raif Geha.
In vivo and in vitro experimentation with mice and isolated cells.
Preparing and running samples for flow cytometry.
Maintaining cell cultures and performing molecular and cellular assays.
Assisting with maintaining the mouse colony.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry or a closely related field (such as immunology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry), and some lab experience, particularly with murine experimentation and husbandry.
The analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
A comfort with animal handling and research.
Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The willingness to make a 2 year commitment.
