Since 2013, enrollment of undergraduate first-year students has increased by approximately 20 percent, making Simmons the fastest growing institution dedicated to women?s education. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement the new Senior Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, together in concert with undergraduate and graduate admission key stakeholders, will build on this remarkable momentum and will spearhead institutional support for marketing admissions to help achieve the strategic enrollment goals of the College.
The new Senior Director will be an accomplished admission enrollment marketing and communications leader who can act as a driving force behind a forward thinking enrollment marketing strategy and admissions operation.
Oversee the design and implementation of an enhanced strategic marketing/communications plan that supports recruitment to enrollment in the College?s undergraduate and graduate programs; Collaborate with enrollment team on marketing strategy for on-the-ground undergraduate and graduate programs, partnering to understand, plan for, and execute particular marketing objectives each year and develop communications plan to support those objectives; Design and deliver materials that support the enrollment team?s objectives for targeted audiences, including view books, specific academic program flyers and brochures, e-mail campaigns, orientation packages, etc.; Manage end-to-end brand transition from Simmons College to Simmons University and develop, implement and supervise execution of recharged branding best practices, standards and guidelines campus-wide; Manage the Simmons College ?look and feel? to ensure a consistent reflection of the college in all outlets ? print, web, electronic, etc.; Serve as the University?s brand expert; advising and providing consultative all departments, divisions, academic and administrative units about proper management; Lead and serve as a change management advocate and be responsive as new opportunities present themselves during the year ? e.g., a surge of interest in certain academic programs, or new enrollment targets for transfer students; Manage and monitor academic advertising budget and decisions in collaboration with program recruiters, including developing and managing budget for design, writers, photographers, and print; Examines best practices and strategies of competitors; remain current with higher education marketing trends and developments; Supervise full time designer and a handful of outside vendors who provide graphic design, content development, and printing services. In addition, provide guidance and supervision for one internal advertising traffic manager (part time). Qualifications:
Minimum of 8-10 years of marketing communications related experience; Prior marketing/branding/messaging in higher education, including but not limited to admissions, enrollment and financial aid preferred; Proven analytical and creative ability to address targeted messages to a variety of audiences; demonstrated experience creating and managing visual brand; Demonstrates sound project management principles and organizational skills, including ability to set priorities, manage simultaneous projects, and complete projects on time; Advanced skills in the areas of: interpersonal communication, persuasion, diplomacy, judgement, and negotiation; Foster positive interactions and cultivate strong relationships with all internal stakeholders and external service providers; Demonstrated leadership ability for visionary thinking, collaboration, and motivating others.
