As a senior member of the Global Training team, the Senior Manager, Digital Learning is primarily responsible for optimizing Bain’s digital learning technology ecosystem and integrations between Bain systems and external content sources. The Senior Manager also ensures quality of internal/external learning content and builds relevant analytics to support broader adoption to digital learning globally. Senior Managers have oversight of day-to-day activities in the department, and take ownership of initiatives with impact both within the team and for Bain as a whole.

Global training at Bain builds capabilities through a range of learning options including face-to-face experiential programs, apprenticeship, coaching, mentoring, social, virtual facilitation and self-directed digital content. We are actively increasing the use of digital/online learning at Bain including developing the “next generation” learning content/delivery to complement our award-winning in-person programs.

Optimize Bain’s digital learning technology ecosystem

  • Demonstrate significant expertise with relevant learning platforms and content technology (i.e. LXPs, eLearning software, video content system, external content, virtual meeting platforms, learning analytical systems)

  • Source, evaluate, select, and integrate a range of learning technologies to ensure the ecosystem ‘feels like one place for learning’

  • Act as senior advisor across Bain for strategic initiatives on all topics related to evolving the use of digital learning technologies

  • Direct the configuration, support, and periodic upgrades of all learning technology working in coordination with Bain employees and vendor teams

  • Test and maintain technical integration with Workday; manage test plans, assess acceptance criteria, prioritize feature releases, and coordinate with vendor/Bain’s Technology Services Group (TSG) for issues and resolutions

  • Manage direct relationships with learning technology vendors and content providers; ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)

  • Develop systems to ensure regular quality checks for learning technology; react quickly and efficiently to customer feedback/requests

  • Co-create quarterly system/functionality release plans in coordination with relevant stakeholders to enhance capabilities while minimizing disruption

  • Develop, propose, and maintain capital and operational budget for learning technology in coordination with Bain’s Technology Services Group (TSG)

Manage overall maintenance and policies for learning content and quality including internal/external sources and integrations with ‘digital platform’ sources

  • Implement standards/policies for internal content, ensuring application of best practices across library of eLearning, modules, videos, voice overs, virtual, infographics; maintain taxonomy metadata alignment with Compass

  • Partner with key stakeholders from all around the Bain system who provide content and establish processes to ensure materials are updated and relevant new materials are added (e.g. linking properly)

  • Ensure new hires, recent promotes, and training session attendees receive reinforcing content over time utilizing vendor functionality (as available)

  • Manage system and content integrations with relevant systems (e.g. Iris, BVU/flight form, Events, Compass, etc.)

Build and maintain robust analytics and drive adoption and utilization of digital learning systems globally

  • Implement dashboards and maintain all learning records and ensure consistency and quality of all data from learning systems (LXP, Google Analytics); improve analytics over time

  • In coordination with content teams, develop set of regular metrics to support analysis and measurement of self-directed content effectiveness

  • Actively promote the learning systems and functionality across general consulting and business function/expert/engine 2 employees globally

  • Maintain a network of global stakeholders to promote system adoption

Explore additional opportunities to enhance Bain’s digital learning capabilities beyond global training

  • Stay aligned with client focused efforts including the evolution of Bain Ignite and Bain Academy teams

  • Serve as primary point of contact for any inquiries from client teams focused on digital learning initiatives (within reasonable capacity)




  • BA/BS or equivalent, with strong academic credentials


  • ATD or other relevant certifications in learning technology



  • 8-10 years' experience with learning technology (LXPs, eLearning software, video content system, external content, virtual meeting platforms, learning analytical systems)

  • Significant expertise in SCORM, AICC, xAPI


  • Experience with cutting edge technology –mobile/social/online tools
