Boston University SENIOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR, ENG College of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering in BOSTON, Massachusetts
This is an opportunity for a confident individual to help support the cutting edge research and educational missions of a top ten biomedical engineering department. The BME Department is educating a diverse student population to address a diverse set of biomedical engineering challenges. This position is responsible for making decisions and solving problems with vendor support, pricing and contracted services to provide the best products and services to support our faculty's research programs. This includes acting as liaison to all internal BU financial offices and with vendors or service contract providers. In addition, you will also be responsible for student payroll. With the student employees you will maintain the office appearance, greet and direct visitors, take and relay telephone messages, and provide general information to callers or visitors. Communicating clearly and accurately and showing patience and courtesy when taking care of people is required.
Preparing departmental purchase orders and reimbursement reports.
Working with support service offices and outside vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of ordered goods and services.
Making recommendations to lab personnel for appropriate vendors and contracted service providers.
Managing the purchasing lifecycle for all purchases from requisition to final closeout.
Processing student payroll.
Maintaining a welcoming office environment.
The Boston University Biomedical Engineering Department is among the largest of its kind in the country. Founded in 1966, BU-BME the was among the first to offer a bachelors degree in the subject area. Today, we offer a full suite of undergraduate and graduate degrees and are consistently ranked among the top BME departments in the nation. The faculty are passionate about applying engineering, computational, and analytical techniques to biological systems from the nanoscale level of DNA to the macroscopic level of organ systems.
Associates degree, B.A./B.S. preferred.
Experience with purchasing and reimbursement in a higher education environment preferred.
One to three years of related experience.
Familiarity with SAP preferred.
MS Office proficiency.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
