Boston University SENIOR SCHEDULING MANAGER, Enrollment, University Registrar in BOSTON, Massachusetts

About the Role

Boston University’s Office of the University Registrar seeks a Senior Scheduling Manager. The Senior Scheduling Manager supports the teaching mission of Boston University by scheduling academic classes, final exams, and ad hoc academic events for Boston University academic departments. This role works to ensure that the classroom inventory and schedule meets the pedagogic needs of faculty and learning needs of students. It also has primary responsibility for the 25live scheduling software optimizer runs that determine placement of over 8,000 classes per semester into the appropriate space.

The Senior Scheduling Manager works closely with colleagues through Enrollment & Student Administration (ENSA), Student Services, academic departments, Facilities Management and Planning, and other BU faculty and staff. They manage relationships with proprietary space owners and Events & Conferences and are the primary contact with IS&T and outside vendors to resolve difficulties with the 25live software. They serve as the functional administrator for BU’s scheduling and space management system. The role also provides training to schedulers and users across BU. This role reports to the Associate Registrar for Classroom Management.

The Senior Scheduling Manager’s primary duties include:

  • Planning and implementing the semester academic schedule of classes, including final exams;

  • Primary responsibility for the 25live scheduling software;

  • Resolving software issues;

  • Running reports and queries, sharing information with senior leadership, and;

  • Administering training regarding the Student Information System and 25live.

    The Office of the University Registrar is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). It supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Boston University by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and the evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, and oversee production of the Bulletin and the Degree Advice system.

About the Candidate

A Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience is required for this position. We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has experience with 25live, or similar scheduling software, at the level of functional administrator;

  • Demonstrates strong technical skills;

  • Is able to extract and analyze data;

  • Displays strong oral and written Communication skills;

  • Can work effectively with a diverse clientele, and;

  • Has knowledge of class inventory in a student information system.

    Direct experience in a similar role at another institution, experience in Campus Solutions Catalog and Scheduling, and/or vendor relationship experience are preferred, but not required for consideration.
