Boston University SENIOR STAFF COORDINATOR, Sargent College, Academic Services in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College is one of the country's leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Services, the Senior Staff Coordinator will manage all customer service and reception area operations for the Academic Services Center, as well as manage work assignments for student employee staff in the office.

This position will have a knowledge of Sargent College programs, policies, procedures, and resources, as well as those of the broader University, making referrals where appropriate. This position also manages the Academic Services Center email address, ensuring quality customer service by responding to all email questions in an accurate and timely manner. In addition, this position responds to questions and concerns from non-student stakeholders, including faculty, parents, and School/University administration. Provide administrative support to the assistant dean for student services, undergraduate academic counselors, and the assistant director for graduate financial aid, as needed.

Essential functions include:

  • 35% - Manage the daily administration of the Academic Services Center. Provide information on college programs, policies, procedures, academic regulations and processes to students, parents when appropriate and in accordance with FERPA guidelines, faculty, and prospective students. Provide general office reception support for the Center including telephone, email, and appointment scheduling. Process student record materials and maintain electronic student records. Train, assign work to, and oversee 2-3 student employees.

  • 20% - Provide administrative support to the assistant dean of students services, administrator of graduate financial aid, and the undergraduate academic counselors.

  • 20% - Manage college proprietary rooms calendar and process room reservation.

  • 10% - Graduate admissions: Support as needed such as manage Information Session check-in; collection of final transcripts

  • 10% - Assist in planning and preparation of Sargent student events including commencement, open houses, and student recognition events

  • 5% - Reconcile, project, and manage unit expenses budget reports. Process travel and business expense reports The Senior Staff Coordinator will sustain and support a culture that celebrates the diversity of individuals and ideas, which values accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Required Skills

  • Associate's degree with one to three years of administrative experience

    Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Attention to detail. Proficiency with MS office suite. Willingness to learn academic software applications.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; proven communication skills. Commitment to superb customer service.
