The Role: Everyone on our team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more of a startup than a big company. We’re solving problems that span a broad range of domains: distributed systems, IoT, computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, and network engineering.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy reliable front end applications. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies.

You will tackle challenging situations every day and you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. Along the way, we guarantee that you’ll learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on many customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Experience with AWS and Lambda is a plus

• Experience with Angular and Typescript

• Familiarity with Node.js

• Experience working in start-up mode building products and services from the ground up

• Experience as a tech lead or mentoring other engineers

• Knowledge of AWS services
