The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) is hiring an inaugural Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Engagement Coordinator.

The Coordinator is a unique growth opportunity for entry level professionals interested in DEI work in higher education. The Coordinator develops and maintains meaningful relationships between CAS students and the CAS Diversity and Inclusion office. The Coordinator organizes annual DEI educational programs for students, coordinates regular communication with CAS students regarding DEI themed programs and events, and resources, and serves as a resource for students seeking support in select areas (e.g., responding to bias, accessing campus resources).

Assisting CAS personnel seeking best practices for engaging, student concerns, liaising with CAS offices, and supervising undergraduate interns are also key responsibilities.

Required Skills

Applicants are required to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their interest in the position, the ways inclusion and equity inform their work, and relevant experience in their application materials.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years' experience in a range of DEI-related areas of student engagement such as workshop facilitation, mentoring, project management, conflict resolution, event/program planning, among others.

  • Awareness of best and promising practices in student DEI engagement.

  • Must be able to collaborate successfully and work in a team environment while also contributing individually.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
