GE Vernova Sustainability Program Leader in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The Sustainability Program Leader is responsible for developing and leading strategic initiatives that support delivery against GE Vernova's sustainability priorities, including GHG emissions, water, waste, and other key environmental functions. This role will report into the Executive Sustainability Operations Leader for GE Vernova. This position will support the Corporate and business sustainability function. This role will support development of the company’s climate strategy and lead new programs to meet GE Vernova’s climate goals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, iteration, and execution of programs to achieve GE Vernova’s climate related goals at the intersection of energy and climate.

  • Lead development of models and forecasts to evaluate the impact of climate-related initiatives and identify opportunities for emissions reductions.

  • Support development of the creation of the long-term roadmap across priorities in GE Vernova's Sustainability Framework

  • Establish a valuation model for new programs and projects to determine investment potential.

  • Support the team in developing and tracking metrics and KPIs, and preparing data tables, dashboards, and other internal progress reporting mechanisms for reporting to Senior Leadership team.

  • Partner closely with the Sourcing team to develop and execute strategies for Renewable Energy and Supply Chain.

  • Research and stay abreast of changes to international protocols, policies, and standards.

  • Work closely with controllership, data, and technology teams to identify and execute opportunities to automate Sustainability data, reporting, and planning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering, data analytics, statistics, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience creating data-driven business plans and roadmaps.

  • Focused on and passionate about process improvement.

  • Detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Team player who works effectively with others to achieve identified business outcomes.

  • Ability to work independently and use high judgement to navigate ambiguity.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of renewable energy certificates (RECs), carbon offsets, and other market based mechanisms.

  • Background working in an energy-related field.

  • Self-starter and strong work ethic.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities.

  • Ability to deal effectively with people and work in diverse teams.

  • Ability to set and meet multiple priorities, initiatives and to take on new challenges.

If contracted in the US:

The base pay range for this position is $148,000 - 200,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This posting is expected to close on 8/30/2024.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
