The Talent Development & Learning Manager position is critical to our organization’s mission to enable employees’ performance, development and growth within their current roles and beyond, by connecting them to training, tools and opportunities matched to where they are in their career journey. In this position, you will balance the needs of learners with the needs of the organization and play an integral part in identifying ways to enhance performance, retain and grow talent and sustain positive employee experience.
Position Details
What You'll Do:
Manage USA learning strategy, process, system and resources
o Ensure employees have access to in-role learning and career development opportunities for personal and organizational growth
o Identify and implement learning methodologies, utilizing our LMS (currently SABA), aligned to adult-learning principles to maximize impact on development
o Bring innovation to the talent development approach identifying creative, cost-effective, impactful ways to deliver meaningful programs across a highly matrixed organization and tailoring as necessary to serve individual business unit needs
o Act as liaison with external agencies to design / deliver courses in a variety of formats including instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, mobile learning and other modalities
o Own and ensure adherence to IACET Standards for Continuing Education and Training accreditation including continued review/updates as needed, annual renewals and reaccreditations
Act as liaison to BU learning councils to gain insight and share best practices
o Establish and maintain advisory/consultative relationships with key stakeholders to gather input on learning and development needs, effectiveness of programs, etc.
o Coordinate with the business units to identify training needs
o Create, maintain and continuously improve learning plans in conjunction with stakeholder input
o Act as a learning consultant to the business, identifying and leveraging instructional design principles and best practices
o Source and recommend vendors and other external partners / consultants to design, develop, and/or deliver learning solutions where applicable
Ensure continuous integration between talent processes, development and learning
o Design and implement career pathing visualization through external tool or in-house solution
o Align learning plans to our existing job architecture (roles, competencies and level criteria)
o Conduct needs assessment to identify gaps in individual skills that can be addressed through broad-based training; review available data on skill gaps and develop new assessments when necessary
Enable enterprise-wide talent analytics
o Leverage talent and learning data to align learning journeys to support in-role and future career development
o Track and analyze impact and efficacy of learning plans, development programs and individual courses
o Compile and analyze data to support budget preparation and training priorities
o Utilize PowerBI as an analytics tool
We're Looking For:
Advanced knowledge and ability to coach/guide others in:
o Business applications specifically with learning management systems – aligning functionality with business needs, integrations with other systems, reporting, etc. (experience with SABA preferred)
o Project management: Plans, organizes and prioritizes work, managing multiple tasks and projects, functioning as a self-directed leader of multiple initiatives
Demonstrated proficiency in:
o Instructional design principles, adult learning theories and evaluation methodologies
o Working in highly matrixed organization across cross-functional teams
o Influencing others regarding policies, practices and procedures
o Performing and interpreting needs analyses, and translating the findings into actionable plans
o Use of data analytics tools (PowerBI preferred)
o Managing external vendors
o Keeping up to date with trends in learning and development
A basic understanding of:
o Adult learning processes, instructional design techniques/application
Experience / Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field or equivalent experience and minimum of 7 years prior experience
• Experience with IACET accreditation preferred
