Boston Public Schools Teacher - Moderate Disabilities/Autistic Programs, 0ABA Gr. 1/2 (SY22-23) [One Year Only] in Boston, Massachusetts

This vacancy is the result of a one-year long-term leave of absence, and the educator on leave retains attachment rights to this position while on leave. Hired candidates may be excessed or non-renewed from the position for the following school year. Please keep in mind that the position is for one year only. Background and Overview: The Orchard Gardens School is seeking a K0/K1 ABA-based strand teacher. We are seeking exceptional candidates who have licensure in special education, experience working with children with autism, and experience in applied behavioral analysis practices. The curriculum used in the classroom will be ACE (Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia) and OWL (Opening the World of Learning), and the class size maximum is 9 students. The Strand TEACHER will be highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Severe Disabilities (All Levels). Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and “Highly Qualified”. Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools as outlined above. Hold a Bachelor's degree Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED: Experience teaching in urban schools.
