State of Massachusetts Trainer in Boston, Massachusetts
The Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) is the independent state agency that enforces the Massachusetts anti-discrimination laws in employment, housing, education, credit, and public accommodations by investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating complaints of discrimination.The MCAD also offers remedial and preventative training, and publishes resources online such as model policies, posters, and guides. The MCAD is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join MCAD's training unit. MCAD trainers conduct anti-discrimination trainings on behalf of the MCAD throughout the Commonwealth. In addition, trainers assist the Director of Training and other MCAD staff and faculty with statewide discrimination prevention training and outreach efforts. The trainer will perform other duties related to the MCAD's training, education, and outreach efforts. /_Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ Curriculum development, administration, and delivery of accurate, effective, and interactive three-hour discrimination prevention trainings in the areas of sexual harassment prevention, equal employment, fair housing, public accommodations, and “Know Your Rights” to Massachusetts employers, agencies, and organizations. Plan, coordinate, execute, and co-facilitate MCAD Courses for EEO Professionals: Train the Trainer, Conducting Internal Investigations of Discrimination Complaints, and Responding to Reasonable Accommodation Requests. Engage in daily phone and digital outreach/marketing campaigns to promote the agency's mission and training opportunities throughout the Commonwealth. Attend speaking engagements, conferences, and college fairs as an MCAD representative. Meet with stakeholders in order to form training/outreach partnerships. Conduct internal trainings for MCAD employees. Maintain accurate training unit records, including compliance with mandated training participation, fee payment, and participant surveys. Review and monitor anti-discrimination policies for private employers and housing providers. Assist the Director of Training with executing all external & internal trainings, training unit outreach, civil rights conferences, and the MCAD internship program. Additional related duties as assigned. /*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*/ Teaching experience in a k-12, higher education, or other training environments. Public speaking experience. Operations experience in a role balancing multiple data driven projects. Strong computer skills with competency in various software applications, including Formstack, Google Forms, Google Spreadsheets, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point. Familiarity with video-conferencing technology. Knowledge and ability to understand and communicate complex information about discrimination law and Commission procedures. Superior interpersonal and customer-service skills. Excellent administrative and organizational skills. Experience with curriculum development. Completion of MCAD Train-the-Trainer course. Experience working effectively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Bilingual or multilingual. Significant travel may be required. Candidates must have the ability to travel to various locations across the state to deliver training, including MCAD regional offices (Boston, Springfield, and New Bedford). /_SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS_/ Based on the assignment, the ability to travel to regional offices and other temporary assignments throughout the Commonwealth. May be required to work some evening and weekends. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.* II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.* III.
