Latham Centers Inc. Assistant Supervisor in Brewster, Massachusetts

As the Assistant Supervisor you will assist in the residential supervisor in implementing engaging programming, provide on the floor mentoring, and intimate knowledge of students they are responsible for. Participate in establishing consistent routines related to fitness regimen, functional and transitional living skills, and community involvement. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services/related field preferred. Requirements include high school diploma, valid driver's license, and must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and/or staff. Serve on an on-call rotation. Statement of Responsibilities Assist supervisor in running minimum of 1 assigned suite Assist supervisor in creating and implementing suite programming Communicate directly with Residential Activities Coordinator on outings, ADL?s, and curriculum within assigned suite(s) Supervise Residential Counselors Assist supervisor in creating substitute plans that can be effortlessly followed by substitute staff Become med trained Participate and engage in programming, serving as role model and mentor to direct care staff Participate in daily scheduling meetings Cover vacancies specific to their suite or as needed Reports directly to supervisor of assigned suite Complete required documentation for assigned suite including but not limited to; event reports, quarterly progress notes, Behavior Support Plans, MDT's, etc. Serve on an on-call rotation Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills and professional appearance and demeanor are all required for this position.
