Latham Centers Inc. PE Teacher in Brewster, Massachusetts

As the PE teacher in the Children's Program, you will plan, implement and participate in adaptive physical education and health classes to improve physical health, increase self-esteem, improve recreation skills and foster teamwork of the students. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in education or related field with physical education emphasis, or experience. Massachusetts Teaching Certificate in Physical Education and/or Health Education, immediate eligibility for such certification, or evidence of continuous progress toward such certification, together with related teaching experience. A valid driver's license and the ability to handle children in crisis safely, with compassion is also required. Key Responsibilities: Conduct students' initial and annual P.E./recreation and health assessments. Conduct physical education and health classes. Implement individual OT/PT/PE goals for assigned students. Prepare and train students for competing in Special Olympics. Conduct swimming lessons/swimming test in the Summer PE program. Participate in supervision. Develop and maintain student Individual Physical Education Packets/Portfolios. Prepare identified students IEP goals and all students' annual reports. Attend all mandatory trainings and maintain current certifications. Receive and maintain Red Cross lifeguard certifications. Work in conjunction with outside specialists such as occupational or physical therapists, as needed. All other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Any work assigned shall be related to the Employee?s normal duties, except for occasional emergencies. Generous benefits package!
