Brockton Hospital Clinical Educator in Brockton, Massachusetts

This position is responsible for staff on-boarding, competency assessment, education and training that aligns practice standards with regulatory requirements for clinical staff in the ambulatory practices.

Using nursing education pedagogy, creates educational programs for ambulatory nurses, medical assistants and other staff. Endeavors to increase staff knowledge, improve quality of care and assist practices to meet organizational policy and regulatory requirements.

Schedules, plans and implements training sessions and maintains employee education files through the use of an electronic learning management system. Develops training for on-boarding and competency assessment of clinical nursing staff, medical assistants and technologists. Maintains, develops and assesses the effectiveness of the current preceptor program.

Engages in just-in-time teaching in the practices; performs competency assessment and develops and evaluates performance improvement goals in conjunction with practice managers.

Provides input for establishing evidence based practice standards in the ambulatory setting. Assists in policy development and actively participates in committees work as assigned.   • Willingness to obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Certification through the organization’s training center.

This role, working under the direction of the Director of Nursing, Ambulatory Practice, requires a current Commonwealth of Massachusetts RN license in good standing.BSN required, MSN preferred. Minimum 5 years clinical experience. Curriculum development and teaching/mentoring background required.
