About The Park School

The Park School seeks a Director of Enrollment Management to begin July 1, 2022. The Director of Enrollment Management (DEM) reports to the Head of School and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for leading the strategic and operational components of enrollment management for the School. The DEM leads all enrollment management discussions managing an admission office composed of two Associate Directors of Admission and one Admission Associate. The DEM is responsible for admission and transitioning financial aid from the Business Office to the admissions office. The DEM partners with the Head of School on a variety of initiatives and is singularly responsible for leading the School’s admission, retention, and financial aid processes and efforts to continue to build and sustain a diverse student and family community committed to the mission of The Park School.

The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA dedicated to excellence in education. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team

  • Lead all enrollment management and financial aid activities for Lower (Prek-4) and Upper (5-8) Divisions

  • Set annual enrollment and admission goals, in accordance with the School’s mission, to promote essential elements of diversity in the student body, based on enrollment goals set by the Board of Trustees, Assistant Head of School for Finance & Operations, and Head of School

  • Serve as the Director of Financial Aid organizing and administering the School’s financial aid program with the support of the Assistant Head of School for Finance & Operations and the Controller

  • Oversee new student enrollment process and the current student re-enrollment process working closely with senior leadership partners

  • Utilize DASL and other demographic information tools to assess and understand the market and demographic trends in the Boston Metropolitan Area

  • Partner with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications to develop and implement strategic marketing activities designed to enhance enrollment and retention

  • Develop an Admission and Enrollment Action Plan annually with objectives and goals

  • Ensure internal constituents understand and embrace the customer service orientation necessary for successful enrollment and retention outcomes

  • Attend Board of Trustee meetings as needed keeping the Head of School and Board fully apprised of the School’s admission, retention, and financial aid endeavors

  • Maintain statistical and trend data related to admission, enrollment, and financial aid

  • Presents statistical and trend information to the Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and faculty annually

  • Lead and support an Admission Office staff of 2 Associate Admission Directors and 1 Admission Associate

  • Direct Park’s outreach recruitment plan in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications

  • Work directly and in collaboration with the communications/marketing team on the management and creation of all admission publications and communications, including the school’s viewbook and other print materials and the website

  • Work closely with the Advancement Office in coordinating the Admission Office volunteer network

  • Partner with Division Heads on student retention related issues

  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for admission staff

  • Oversee all on-campus visitation programs — including open house, tours, interviews, and accepted student programming

  • Direct and participate in the entire application review process, and participating in and managing the school’s approach to interviewing, application reading, and committee assignments and work

  • Stay current on Ravenna updates and system enhancements — adjusting practices to match best practice

  • Represent the School at admission fairs, events, and functions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with feeder schools, counselors, and consultants

  • Represent Park in all appropriate organizations and professional communities

  • Serve as a leader for the school community participating in daily life and operation of the school in a present and hands-on manner extending oneself beyond the responsibilities of the role

  • Assist Head of School with other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of admission/enrollment management experience and a strong understanding of the budget drivers that impact school finances

  • Proven track record of thriving on and contributing to teams

  • Strategic thinker and creative problem solver with the ability to see the big picture

  • Demonstrated dedication to multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion in school settings with a record of accomplishment

  • Superior communication skills both written and spoken

  • Proven commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work

  • Superior interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and managerial skills

  • High level of energy, flexibility, warmth, and a ready sense of humor

  • Skilled and facile with technologies that support student record management, analytical reporting, office operations, and social media — Ravenna and Veracross expertise preferred

  • Significant experience using technology including databases, spreadsheets, and Google forms

  • Comfortable with the use of data to make strategic enrollment management decisions and to create effective board reports

  • Experience as a teacher in grade levels from grades PK-8 is preferred, early childhood experience is a plus

  • Ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies

  • Experience in PreK-8 independent school is preferred

    Expected Hours of Work: A full-time exempt position that requires occasional evening and weekend work and requires active engagement in the life of the School community

    Travel: Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required
