Chair, Division of Gynecology
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center
Burlington, MA
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), part of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), is seeking a chair to direct its Division of Gynecology. Candidates should have a continued interest in the practice and advancement of Gynecology and collaborate within BILH to advance women’s health and gender affirming care. The candidate should also have excellent management and interpersonal skills that will allow him or her to lead, grow and develop a division of highly skilled clinicians.
The responsibilities of the Chair include the direction and administration of the professional, education and research programs of the Division. The Chair is responsible for physician recruitment and professional development, achieving Divisional quality, financial, and patient satisfaction goals, developing new initiatives, effectively managing resource allocation within the Division, and optimizing Divisional operations. Candidates should have an established record of achievement in Gynecology and be prepared to lead the Division in a growing health system in addition to ensuring the delivery of excellent clinical care, teaching of fellows, residents, medical students, Advanced Practice providers and fostering research and developing talent.
Applicants must be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. They must preferably have a background warranting academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Additional business training or experience is desired but not required.
Required Experience:
● At least 10 years of experience as a practicing gynecologist
● Leadership experience in a collaborative clinical group practice with Advanced Practice Providers (within a broader Department of Surgery)
● Leadership experience in medical education for fellows, residents and students
● Track record in change management, innovation and team building
● Familiarity with electronic medical records

BILH employs 36,000 individuals making it the second largest employer in the state and consists of over 200 care locations including 13 hospitals with over 2400 beds and 5 ambulatory surgery centers.
