Additional Qualifications:

Previous Harvard experience preferred. Must be capable of managing multiple, diverse assignments/projects simultaneously, responding diplomatically to diverse constituencies, handling sensitive situations and information with discretion, and understanding and solving complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven commitment in maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards, including professional integrity above reproach.

Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Senior Director manages the daily and long-term activities of the Academic Dean. In consultation with the Academic Dean, advances and monitors progress on the Academic Dean’s work and identifies, assigns, prioritizes, and tracks specific assignments/projects.

Core Duties:

  • Makes determinations about the Academic Dean's activities, and prepares briefing materials.

  • Position includes direct management of the Academic Dean’s Executive Assistant, tracking workflow and ensuring projects across the office are adequately supported.

  • Oversees the office budget. Facilitates communication and collaboration between the office of the Academic Dean and the office of the Dean.

  • Works closely with the Dean’s Chief of Staff on special projects related to the Dean’s or the Academic Dean’s offices, and may be assigned specific projects for the Dean’s Office under the supervision of the Chief of Staff.

  • Serves as principal liaison as appropriate between the Academic Dean's office, the Academic Dean for Teaching and Curriculum’s office, the Executive Dean’s office as well as the associate deans’ offices and ensures effective collaboration between these offices and beyond.

  • Approaches work with a cross-functional and cross-school mindset and will assume primary responsibility for select projects/initiatives as directed.

  • Absolute discretion and ability to work with strictly confidential information are a must.

  • Additional duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be expected to work outside of normal business hours.
