ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, MIT.nano, to manage administration--on behalf of the director--in a new, complex, and innovative interdisciplinary center. Will manage and oversee all financial, human resources (HR), and administrative operations, including multiple service centers; provide leadership/direction for financial operations including financial planning, budget analysis, operational and financial performance metrics, and business and strategic plans; develop and maintain current and long-range financial plans for MIT.nano; oversee HR functions, i.e., policy interpretation/administration, job classification, salary reviews, rewards and recognition programs, staff development, recruitment, and onboarding; and work with the director and other staff to manage space and new high tech facilities used for internal and external collaboration.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in business or similar analytical area; at least ten years’ leadership experience in an administrative, executive, or management position; ability to foster teamwork/building; experience supervising individuals and multiservice teams; excellent problem-solving, project-management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues; ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines; demonstrated knowledge of financial and research administration; experience with service center models, preferably in an academic/research environment with federal sponsors; experience with rules and regulations on the administration of federal awards; data orientation; facility for integrating new concepts, practices, and emerging technologies into strategic planning and new business methods; advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package; relational database skills; and experience with BrioQuery and/or Cognos. MIT experience, ability and inclination to learn the basics of MIT.nano research fields, and complete facility with financial and HR information systems preferred. Job #17683-117/10/19
