ASSISTANT DEAN OF INTERCULTURAL ENGAGEMENT FOR MULTICULTURAL PROGRAMS, Dean for Student Life, to act as a member of the Intercultural Engagement team, with a cross functional focus on Multicultural Programs and LBGT Services. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction and leadership for Multicultural Programs; overseeing budgets and fund-raising efforts, advancing policy development, encouraging faculty/staff involvement, developing and coordinating programmatic initiatives, and conducting assessment of student learning outcomes; overseeing strategic initiatives of the Black Student Union and Latino Cultural Center, including responsibility for operating budgets, advising multicultural student organizations, and supervising one full-time employee and three graduate interns; and collaborating in the oversight, facilitation, and assessment of SPXCE (Social Justice Programming and Cross Cultural Engagement) Intercultural Centers’ programming and outreach and applying identity development, intersectionality, and social justice framework to all programs/retreats/trainings. REQUIRED: master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, higher education student personnel services, or closely related field; five years’ progressive, full-time experience in multicultural education/administration and supervising professional staff; extensive experience designing and implementing social justice training; experience coordinating and assessing educationally purposeful student engagement initiatives and diversity programming; track record of successfully working with diverse demographics including LBGTQ students; broad knowledge of student life/student development; ability to develop and implement multicultural curriculum; experience updating websites and designing publications; and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with the following also required: budget management; teaching in a higher education setting; engaging students in program development and implementation; working and leading in a cross-functional educational environment; record of leadership and commitment to developing a cohesive team; and working collaboratively in an environment of multiple voices and perspectives.
