ASSISTANT DEAN FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION, Priscilla King Gray (PKG) Public Service Center, to develop and manage programming that facilitates students’ learning around complex social and environmental challenges, including ethical preparation, community-engaged research, and project implementation. Will manage the IDEAS Global Challenge which supports and recognizes student social innovators and entrepreneurs. This annual challenge engages 200+ graduate and undergraduate students working on domestic and international projects to meet the needs of underserved populations.
REQUIRED: a master’s degree in higher education management, social entrepreneurship, or a related field; at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, social innovation, or related area; collaboration and leadership competencies; a capacity for operational management and strategic planning; excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills; strong teamwork orientation; ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under minimal supervision, and to exercise initiative to meet and anticipate emerging issues and requirements; and excellent computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets and databases and comfort learning new software as needed. Must be committed to diversity and able to work with a highly diverse student population. Experience with entrepreneurship and fund-raising preferred, as is field experience in emerging markets and other relevant areas.
