ASSOCIATE DEAN AND DIRECTOR FOR STUDENT ACTIVITIES, LEADERSHIP, AND ENGAGEMENT, Student Organizations, Leadership, and Engagement (SOLE), to lead a team of professionals responsible for providing direction and support for the core functions of student organizations and activities and the strategic areas of student leadership development, engagement, and community building. Will set organizational direction, including establishing goals and priorities, standards of operation, program assessment and evaluation, strategic planning, policy development, and issue identification and resolution in the areas of leadership and organization development, diversity and inclusion education, community building, event planning, coordination and support, and policy development and compliance. Will also ensure that SOLE’s core mission, which includes responsibility for facilitating life skills development by providing opportunities for student learning, exploration, social connections, reflection, discovery and personal growth, is achieved. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; seven years’ progressive experience in a university setting, preferably in the area of student activities/leadership; experience managing staff, providing training and/or teaching, and leading department strategic planning and implementation; attention to detail; experience managing budgets; demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations; experience developing and launching a student programming board; excellent interpersonal, conflict management, and oral and written communication skills; experience developing training materials for a variety of audiences; discretion with confidential information; leadership training and student organization advising experience. Must be able to identify both problems and potential solutions; connect with students and earn their trust while establishing and maintaining appropriate limits/boundaries; balance and satisfy competing deadlines and personalities under pressure and in sensitive situations; and work both independently and as a team member. Salary range: $95-110,000 (depending upon experience)
