ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR STUDENT ACTIVITIES/COORDINATOR FOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS, Division of Student Life (DSL)-Student Activities Office, to serve as an integral member of a team providing support, advice, and direction to and for MIT students and student organizations, particularly in the area of student leadership development. Will implement and manage co-curricular and leadership programs for undergraduate and graduate students; collaborate on facilitating the development of strategies and programmatic initiatives that focus on the area of student leadership, skill development, learning outcomes, and assessment; serve the diverse needs of the MIT community and actively promote an inclusive environment; and foster communication and collaboration between students, DSL staff, and relevant programs and operations at MIT. Responsibilities include supporting and advising student organizations and governments; facilitating students’ efforts to provide a balanced program of social activities; curricular development and facilitation and assessment of student leadership programs/initiatives; and directly advise/coordinate a variety of leadership programs.

REQUIRED: at least four years’ experience in student activities, student leadership, curriculum development, and/or social justice education; excellent interpersonal, writing, and public speaking skills; proven experience delivering data-driven and outcomes-based programs and curricula in the area of student leadership development; experience utilizing current leadership and identifying development theories; and experience with conflict resolution, leadership training, and collaboration. Must be able to intentionally thread issues of cultural competencies and social justice education within a framework of leadership development; articulate a student activities philosophy and the role of student activities in a high intensity, innovative, and ever-changing academic environment; multitask with meticulous attention to detail; and work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment. Master’s degree in student personnel and/or higher education strongly preferred. Job #15921-O
Evening and weekend hours will be required. The desired start date is August 1, 2018.
Salary range: mid $60K to low $70K
