Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Familiarity with Technolutions Slate or similar CRM system strongly preferred.

  • Attention to detail a must.

  • Previous experience developing detailed protocols and managing complex processes.

  • Prior responsibilities with making data-informed decisions.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills; strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines is essential.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute as member of team, develop relationships with wide variety of internal and external constituencies, provide high-level of customer service, handle confidential information, balance need to be both strategic and detail-oriented, and work in fast-paced environment.

  • Responsible for effective staff management, including hiring and orientation, training and development, workflow and performance management, and the promotion of an inclusive and innovative work environment

  • Oversee admissions operations including applicant recruitment and evaluation, applicant advising and counseling, and event planning and marketing

  • Contribute to recruiting strategy development to attract a diverse pool of applicants

  • Develop and analyze reports and metrics to monitor admissions and recruitment trends; recommend strategies to improve yields

  • May prepare and administer departmental budget

  • Evaluate admissions processes, procedures and systems, recommend improvements

  • Represent university as the spokesperson at high level admissions events and/or functions

  • Evaluate departmental policies and procedures, recommend improvements

  • Ensure compliance with university admissions policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations with respect to students’ rights to privacy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting using near vision use for reading and computer use for extended periods of time

  • Lifting (approximately 20 to 30 pounds), bending, and other physical exertion

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office setting

  • Travel may be required

  • May be required to work nights and weekends

Job-Specific Responsibilities:Reporting to and in collaboration with the Director of Admissions, this position is responsible for the process design improvement and management of admissions operations, including the deliberate use of data in the office’s decision making. Working as a team with the Associate Director and Director of Admissions, responsible for strategic planning and initiatives designed to increase overall number, quality, and diversity of the applicant pool. Conducts data needs assessments and evaluates admission activities to recommend immediate and future operational enhancements to support long-term admission goals. Supports the development of data-informed recruitment and marketing plans. Monitors and analyzes data and trends for recruitment, admission, and yield purposes. Accountable for accurate end-to-end admissions processing, from prospective inquiry to decision release and matriculation. Has oversight of day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office, with direct supervision of two to four staff members. In conjunction with the Director and others in the office, plays an active role in managing technology (e.g., CRM, automated email tracks campaign, online application, decision notification, admitted students’ website) to support operations and customer service. Responsible for managing associated operations lines in budget, including reallocation of resources as necessary. Organizes and represents HGSE at on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events. Counsels prospective applicants/students regarding degree offerings and admissions process. Serves as liaison between Admissions Office and program faculty directors and staff, as well as other offices. Oversees admissions process and committee work for several degree programs, working autonomously and as a team member. Evaluates applications for a portfolio of degree programs. Serves as a resource to faculty and staff on applicable admissions data and system needs. As member of Admissions team, contributes at all levels as needed. Handle special projects as needed.

Once Harvard resumes regular operations this position will no longer be remote and work will be performed on campus in Cambridge, MA.
