ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF TRAINING, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to assume a strategic leadership role in the development of J-PAL’s global training portfolio and advise the work of its worldwide offices in capacity building and training. This includes analyzing the contribution of trainings to J-PAL’s mission; working with J-PAL leadership on strategic planning; directly managing one or two associate- or senior associate-level staff; and overseeing the work of different teams within RET who build out data analysis tools, create new reference and teaching materials, implement training courses, and support online courses. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in economics, political science, education, public policy, or related field; training in and a strong technical understanding of randomized impact evaluations; at least seven years of relevant experience (which may include at least four years’ of relevant full-time teaching and research experience gained during graduate school); strong interest in poverty alleviation policy and research as demonstrated by coursework and research and teaching experience; knowledge of data management, data analysis, and econometrics; experience with PowerPoint and Excel; and good command of Stata or knowledge of R, Python, or other analytics programs; and the ability and willingness to quickly learn Stata. International development experience or extensive experience in social policy in other settings is desired. Job #1686812/13/18
