Department:SociologyPre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentitySchedule:TBDJob Function:Faculty & Student Services, General AdministrationJob-Specific Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies (ADUS) will assist the Sociology Department ladder faculty members in the following ways: oversee the Department’s undergraduate program, including the concentration and secondary field; conduct and coordinate undergraduate advising, including concentration and senior theses advising; oversee concentration advisers and Teaching Fellows; oversee Lecturers, including providing direction and/or guidance related to syllabus development, teaching, and policy; under the direction of the Department Chair and in consultation with faculty members and the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), and working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS), Chair the meetings of the Departmental Curriculum Committee and arrange the departmental program of undergraduate course offerings for the coming academic year. May teach up to 2 undergraduate courses per academic year, depending on departmental need. Additional duties as required. This position reports to the Chair of the Department.
