High energy and ability to select appropriate opportunities to take initiative, as well as to ensure that ongoing projects move forward. Successful candidate must be able to understand the general mission of the Program in Medical Education (PME) and possess/develop a working knowledge of the M.D. curriculum. Attendance at periodic early morning/evening meetings or events required.Additional Information:This is a 2-year term position from date of hire with possibility of extension, contingent on work performance and continued funding for the position.

•Work with faculty theme directors and OCS/HST staff on strategies for integrating thematic content into the curriculum;
•Provide logistical support for in-person and remote curricular theme-and IPE-related course sessions;
•Develop and maintain theme “courses” in the Canvas learning management system in collaboration with theme directors and OCS staff;
•Coordinate societal theme and IPE curriculum mapping and search efforts, including key words entry and thematic visualizations;
•Participate in and provide staff support to working groups and committees related to the societal themes and IPE;
•Serve as a societal theme and IPE curricular content resource for students, faculty and staff in the HMS community;
•Collaborate with OEQI faculty and staff on assessment and faculty development initiatives related to the societal themes and IPE;
•Coordinate retreats and events related to societal themes and IPE;
•In collaboration with PME Administration, contribute societal theme and IPE content to the Medical Education public website;
•Serve as a resource for thematic content approaches and best practices at other institutions.

The societal themes are: Aging and End-of-Life Care; Health Equity; Sex and Gender Minority Health; Substance Use and Pain; and Trauma-Informed Care. In addition, Interprofessional Education (IPE) is a sixth longitudinal theme in the four-year M.D. curriculum. Each of these themes are integrated into the three phases of the curriculum: Preclerkship, Principal Clinical Experience (PCE) and Post-PCE. In order to facilitate the development and integration of curricula in these areas, the Curricular Theme Coordinator will support the work of the faculty theme directors, closely collaborating with staff in the Office of Curriculum Services (OCS) and the Office of Educational Quality Improvement (OEQI).
