Department:South Asian StudiesPre-Employment Screening:Credit, Criminal, Education, IdentityJob Function:General Administration Job-Specific Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chair, responsible for comprehensive implementation of all University policies regarding FAS departments, committees, faculty, staff, visitors, students, admissions, courses, libraries, events, faculty searches and appointments, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, travel and reimbursement, financial aid and fellowships, office management and equipment maintenance. Oversee all administrative functions of Department of South Asian Studies, Sanskrit Library, Committee on South Asian Studies. Interact with partners and stakeholders across Harvard University, including the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute. Interpret and administer all FAS financial policies, procedures, and computer applications. Prepare, authorize, manage, and forecast departmental budget. Compose and edit department publications.

Supervise part-time Staff Assistant.
