EDUCATION ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Education Group, to join the group that leads the development and implementation of innovative education programs aimed at building global capacity in program evaluation and development economics. The Education Group currently manages two of the organization’s latest initiatives--the MITx MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP) and the blended, on-campus MIT Master’s in DEDP. These online and hybrid education programs were announced in December of 2016 and are being directed by Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo, and Ben Olken. Will be expected to think creatively about global capacity building in this sector in order to support these exciting programs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: undergraduate degree, preferably in economics, political science, international development, or related field; a minimum of two years of experience, which may include internships and RA or TA work; a background in economics, policy, or related field; strong data analysis skills and comfort working in STATA and/or R; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build good relationships and work within a team; ability to communicate clearly with a broad range of stakeholders; proven ability to anticipate, plan, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines; demonstrated ability to efficiently organize and manage a high volume of work; and ability to self-manage a time-sensitive workflow while maintaining high quality output and absolute accuracy with details.
