Additional Information

The Pulitzer Curatorial Fellow reports to the Curator of Modern and Contemporary art, and works closely with the Curator of Drawings and other curators of works on paper, to conduct original, scholarly research to support the acquisition, study, and curatorial care of drawings from the last 100 years. The emphasis will be on contemporary drawing, with drawings of the modern era as secondary field of activities. The Pulitzer Fellow will be a key contributor to the reassessment and conceptualization of contemporary drawing practice in the museum, and to broadening the diversity of artists and stories represented in the museums’ collections. In dialogue with paper conservators, issues in the material and conservation challenges of the medium will be explored.
The Curatorial Fellow participates in a broad range of curatorial activities, including assistance with new acquisitions, cataloging of the permanent collection in the Art Museums’ database, and donor cultivation.
Foregrounding the museum’s teaching and research mission, the Curatorial Fellow contributes to a rich offering of public and academic interpretive programs across various platforms and helps provide content expertise and support for the Art Museums’ Art Study Center by supporting classes and individual appointments approximately three hours a week, attends a series of art handling workshops.
The Curatorial Fellow will be an active member of the Fellows’ cohort and participate in regular cohort meetings and the annual Fellows symposium at the end of the spring semester.
The Curatorial Fellow may supervise students and temporary employees.
