EVENT COORDINATOR, MIT Open Learning-Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL), to plan and coordinate logistics of ongoing J-WEL (https://jwel.mit.edu/) programs and events, including J-WEL Weeks, J-WEL Connections, J-WEL Exchanges and Workshops, webinars, and other programming. Will also--with the direction of staff and management--develop and implement new J-WEL events. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics for J-WEL programs and events by collaborating with J-WEL membership and project and programming staff to prepare and ensure the timely delivery of program resources, including both virtual and in-person events; evaluating the logistics of ongoing and new events; recommending and implementing changes and enhancements for future events based on feedback and data gathered in the course of supporting events; developing and maintaining technical infrastructure supporting in-person and online events, including content management systems, registration systems, video conferencing systems, and specialized collaboration tools; and performing a variety of other miscellaneous duties and participating in special projects as assigned. REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; at least three years of experience in events planning or project/program management, preferably in higher education; and familiarity with HTML, web content management platforms, and QuickBase or other database management tools. Job #21130-7 4/15/22
