FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR 2, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to coordinate grant and gift-related financial activities for several major J-PAL initiatives and/or program areas. Will provide independent grants management and financial planning support for the subaward lifecycle, including developing grant budgets and coordinating with principal investigators, initiative teams, and MIT RAS staff to submit proposals for prime awards into MIT’s grants management system; act as the point of contact for specific initiatives and work with MIT COUHES and RAS staff to execute subawards in a timely manner; ensure that J-PAL subawardees are compliant with MIT’s IRB policies, donor and J-PAL deliverables, and fiscal standards; prepare financial reports for initiatives, J-PAL management, and donors; work with J-PAL’s research, policy, and training teams to make sure their needs for financial management, planning, and reporting are met.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field required; at least three years’ relevant experience; ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate a message particular to an audience and to meet relevant goals using clear, concise, and appropriate language; ability to handle interruptions throughout the day in order to manage requests, work on several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete assigned tasks, and meet deadlines; self-motivation and willingness to learn; ability to self-manage workflow while maintaining high-quality output and accuracy with details; comfort learning computer applications, including Salesforce; self-motivation; desire to continuously improve processes and work in teams; comfort with and adeptness at working in a diverse and multicultural work environment with colleagues, partners, and policymakers from around the world.
